He was a lawyer by profession and represented Jackson County in the legislature and was also solicitor of the City Court. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church in Commerce and interment was in Hebron Cemetery, Banks County. He was a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jim Martin of Banks County, who came to Jefferson to reside in order that their children might be educated at Martin Institute. Survivors are his wife, Mildred Dorough Martin; a daughter, Mildred Martin, and 2 sons, Cpl. Jimmie Martin with the U. S. Army in Europe, and Billy Martin of Commerce; 2 sisters, Misses Lillian and Hettie Martin of Banks County, and a brother, Judge G. P. Martin of Commerce. Additional Comments: B. Jun 29, 1887; D.
