C. McDonald Passes Our little city was made sad on December 25th, by the death of one of our old and respected citizens, Mr. H. C. McDonald, which occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. F. Martin. He had been ill the past two years and confined to his bed most of the time, still his death brought sadness to many hearts. Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church Monday at 2 o'clock by Rev. C. Freeman and the interment was in Homer cemetery by the side of his wife who preceded him to the grave many years. A large concourse of people attended the funeral which attested the high esteem in which he was held by our people. The deceased is survived by two daughters and two sons, Mrs. G. F. Martin and Mrs. D. M. Mason, Mesers Andrew and Homer McDonald, all of Banks county. Also 16 grand children and 11 great grandchildren. "Carr" McDonald, as he was affectionately known by his many friends, spent his youth in South Carolina and moved to Banks county 58 years ago where he remained until his death. He was 83 years old, a good man and a good citizen.
