B. Griffin respectfully showeth that Asa Griffin, a resident of said County until his death, which happened on the 25th day of October 1865 has left a considerable estate, real and personal, and without a will. Your petitioner showeth further that on account of the length of time required by law to advertise for permanent letters of administration and the circumstances of said Asa Griffin's estate, great loss and injury may happen unless temporary administration is granted immediately on said Griffin's estate. Your petitioner showeth that he is next of kin of said Asa Griffin and claims to be appointed right administrator on this ground. In conclusion, he would state further for information in the premises that the estate is worth at least twelve thousand dollars. This 30th November 1865. Thos. B. Griffin for temporary letters on the estate of Asa Griffin, late of Banks County, Georgia, decd and claims to be appointed such administration on this ground. It is therefore ordered that temporary letters is issued to said Thos. B. Griffin on him giving the necessary bond and taking the required oath. E. R. Griffin Administrator Georgia, Banks County on the estate of Asa Griffin decd . It appearing to the Court from the petition of Asa L. Griffin that sufficient time has elapse since your appointment and administration as aforesaid for you to have fully administered said estate and it further having been represented to the Court that you have failed to settle with said Asa L. Griffin at the expiration of each year as required by law. You are therefore required and cited to appear before me at my office in the Courthouse at Homer on the 21st day of February 1870 by 10 o'clock of that day a.m. When and there to make a full and fare exhibit of all your receipts and disbursements in the administration of said estate up to this date and that you settle with the said Asa L. Griffin for his distributed share of said estate so far as the same shall have been administered. Given under my official signature this 9th day of February 1870. A. G. Griffin have leave to sell the lands of said Asa Griffin as ___________ to pay debts and divide among his heirs.
