Gilliland, 80, died Wednesday, November 29, 2000. Mr. Gilliland was born in Barrow County, a son of the late Henry and Dora Etheridge Gilliland. He was retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Master Sergeant and was a member of New Liberty United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 1, at New Liberty United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jaj Jones and Freddie O’Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Gilliland is survived by his wife, Bell Wood Gilliland, Winder; five sisters, Ruby Sizemore, Marietta, Lois Wehunt, Maude Gilliland and Joyce Carter, all of Hoschton, and Betty Brady, Cornealia; three brothers, Quinton Gilliland, Hoschton, Charlie Gilliland, Talladega, Ala., and Roy Gilliland, Cleveland; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Carter Funeral Home, Winder. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to New Liberty United Methodist Church, P.O.
