On 25 Dec 1858, Hillery Meeks sold lots 426 and 427 in the 17th district to John Mayfield for $800.00 On 10 Dec 1861, Hillery Meeks purchased Lots 493, 494 and the south half of lots 444 and 516 in the 17th district 3rd section of Cass County from William A Thrash for $1,338.54. Each lot was 40 acres. This property was in the Red Ligon Community on the Rome Road(now Chulio Rd 4 Oct 1863 Hillery Meeks sold lot 516 to Matthew Campbell for $1,000 3 Feb 1869 lots 517 & 518, belonging to Hillery Meeks, was sold by Sheriff W W Rich to Josiah R Parrott for $100.00 3 Mar 1869 Sheriff L Burrough sold lots 494, 493, and 1/2 of lot 444 in the 17th district to Z T Nichols for $400.00 18 Mar 1872 Mary A Meeks borrowed $92.00 from John Cochran, she put up as collateral lots 493, 494, 1/2 of lots 444 & 516, one mensed colored mule, four cows, one yearling and two calves. (paid back on 12 Dec 1873 and 9 Nov 1874 2 Feb 1879 Mary A Meeks again used lots 493 & 494 as collateral on a loan from Mr Ford, Mr Glover & Mr.Hight
