“Tobe” Jackson, the wily, shrewd “Tobe” of almost national and international fame; 
in other words, the Cartersville dynamiter, and his brother, Sam, escaped from 
Cartersville jail last Friday night by sawing out through the top of the cell and 
jail roof. With ‘Tobe” (sic) and Sam Jackson and Gus Baker where “the woodbine 
twineth and the whang-doodle mourneth,” and Dr. Baker acquitted, the great furor 
over the dynamite explosion is practicably at an end with nothing, as “Tobe” 
Jackson says, but a small hole in the roof of the jail to show for the two or 
three thousand dollars expended in prosecuting the dynamite cases.
