Adams, 88, of 7 Wimpee Street, died in a local hospital this morning after an illness of six months. Born in Cartersville, May 9, 1856, he spent most of his life in Rome, and was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1921, and since that time he had made his home with his granddaughter, Mrs. Annie Belle Satterfield. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Amanda Snowden, of Fairfield, Ala., a brother, F. B. Adams of Kingston, 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home. The Rev. H. F. Joyner will officiate, and interment will be in the family cemetery near Spring Creek. Six grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Additional Comments: J. M. Adams is buried in the Adams-Snowden Family Cemetery located in Bartow Co. He married Lucy E. Dawson on December 17, 1874 in Bartow Co.
