WARREN CORBIN On Wednesday evening of last week, the 24th ult., Mr. Warren Corbin, living in Stamp creek district, left town with a two horse wagon loaded with shingles, for home. About one and a half miles from town, in going down a long hill, his mules ran with him, throwing him out and dragging his body some two hundred yards. It so happened that Mr. G.W. Satterfield and family were returning home from Cherokee county in a vehicle and were coming up the same hill at the time. Mr. Satterfield barely had time to get his vehicle out of the way of the running team. When Mr. S. came up with Mr. C. he was speechless and died in about a half hour. The head of the deceased was badly fractured in two or three places and much bruising upon his body. Strange to say nothing was broken although the heels of both his boots were knocked off. The deceased was in the bloom of health and had promise of a splendid manhood. He was a brother of Mr. W.F. Corbin, ex tax collector of this county. We deeply sympathize with the family, and friends of the deceased in this sad occurrence.
