JAS. P. ADAMS BARNSLEY PIONEER DIED ON MONDAY Joseph Parks Adams, one of the early settlers of Barnsley, died Monday, April 11th, at the home of his nephew, Richard Adams. Mr. Adams was born August 27th 1852 in South Carolina. His wife preceded him in death 14 years ago. He will be remembered most as "Uncle Parks". He joined the church when he was a boy and was a member of the Barnsley Chapel. He is survived by his two daughters, Mrs. H.L. Bonds, and Mrs. C.H. Fountaine of Barnsley, two sons, J.C. Adams of Adairsville and J.J. Adams of Norfolk, Va.; three brothers M. Adams, Rome, Ga., B.F. Adams, of Athens, and R.L. Adams of Barnsley. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Connesena church at two o'clock. Rev. Gus Bonds officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Barton's Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
