Jarrett Bartow County Georgia In the name of God Amen. I Nathan W. Jarrett, a citizen of said county being of sound and disposing mind, admonished by the ___ of life to which in common with humanity I am subject and wishing now where in the full possession of my mental faculties to dispose of such property real and personal as I am possessed of do make and declare this as my last will and testament. It is my will and desire that as soon after my death as it can be done to the best advantage of all concered my Executor hereafter named shall pay off all my just debts having the same proved in form of law and taking proper receipts therefore. These debts are but few aggregating not more than Seventy Five dollars. Second It is my will and I desire my Executors herein named to divide the lot of land on which I now reside (being Lot Number seventy two of the fifth district & third section of orginally Cherokee County now Bartow) into equal and exact partitions by a line to be run across said Lot East & West. Third I hereby give and will to my beloved son William Anderson the trust for the use benefit and behoof of my sons, Nathan Wright and Robert Kinnebrew who are at this present time both minors, the South half of said lot of land as divided by said line East & West and on which is located the residence and outbuildings where I am now living, the said South Half and said Lot to be held by him, my said son, William Anderson Jarrett in trust for my said sons, Nathan Wright Jarrett & Robert Kinnebrew Jarrett, until the youngest of these sons, Robert shall arrive at the age of thirty years when the fee simple __ said half of said lot shall rest in them jointly and absolutely. My object for declaring this trust is to secure my sons in a home for them the said Robert and Nathan and also for my beloved wife, Margaret J. Jarrett and for myself during the continuance of my life, and I expect and make it a condition of the above bequest to my said son Nathan and Robert that they shall continue as heretofore to be dutiful and obedient children and shall from the provision of the land herein given to them support and maintain their stepmother, my wife, Margaret J. Jarrett and myself during our lives. If my said son, William Anderson Jarrett should die before my youngest son afore said Robert should reach the age of thirty and before the fulfillment of the trust herein made to him, then I desire and will that my son-in-law, Elijah Cook, should become the trustee of my said son and carry out the provisions of the trust herein delegated and fixed in my said son, William Anderson. Fourth It is my will and I hereby give to my son, William Anderson Jarrett the one half of the North half of said lot of land on which I now reside and as herein before described the said half of the said North half of said lot be fixed by a line running through the center thereof. Fifth I will and give to my son-in-law Elijah Cook in trust for his wife, my beloved daugher, Roxanna, the one half of the North Half of the said lot of land on which I now reside as herein before described the said half of the North half of said lot to be determined by a lot line to be located in center thereof as may be agreed upon between him the said, Elijah Cook and the said William Anderson Jarrett my son aforesaid in fixing the Trustee for my said daughter in her husband, Elijah Cook, it is my will that he shall hold the said half of the North half of said lot herein given my daughter, Roxana, in trust for her use and the uses and benefits of her children until the youngest of her children shall reach the age of twenty one at the expiration of which time the fee simple and absolute title shall rest in the children who are the heirs of the body of said daughter Roxana. Sixth I have heretofore made and advance of fifty dollars to my son John Franklin Jarrett and have endeavored to do for each of my children as good a part as my circumstances and health would allow. Had these whom God gave me as sons been true and obedient I would have been enabled to have provided more liberally for each. I will that my Executors as soon as it can in their judgment be done shall from the proceeds of crop to be grown this year or from the sale of such personal property as may be deemed advisable to sell, pay to each of my sons, Jefferson Scott Jarrett, Columbus Marion Jarrett, John Franklin Jarrett, and George Thomas Jarrett the sum of five dollars. Seventh It is my will and desire that my beloved wife, Margaret J. shall have all the personal property which she has at any time had as her property by gift or purchase. Cow and calf, sow and pigs and such other personal property as is necessary for her comfort and support. I command my wife, who has been true and dedicated to me, to my sons and nothing here in shall be so construed as to prevent her being maintained in comfort as long as she shall live at the home and residence wherein I am now residing. Eighth It is my will and desire that the blacksmith stove shall become the property of my sons Nathan & Robert Jarrett when they or the youngest of them shall become of age. Also that my said son Nathan & Robert Jarrett shall have and I herein give to them the household and kitchen furniture subject to the uses of maintaining my said wife Margaret & myself as herein before mentioned and provided. Ninth I nominate and appoint my son William Anderson Jarrett and my son-in-law Elijah Cook as the Executors of this my Last Will and Testament to carry out the provisions of the same fully and entirely as herein provided without ____ ___ ____. Tenth I commend my Soul to the God of the just who gave it & my family and their ____ to Him, who doeth all things well. I beseech my sons to remember that that to be good Always and true ___ easy must be upright and honest Diligent in business and prudent in all their ways. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal in the presence of W.W. King, John F. Bobo, and Henry D. Capers before whom I have had this my will and Testament. Capers saw the within named Nathan W Jarrett sign and publish the within paper as his last will and testament and that I substantiate the same as a witness then to at the special _____ filed request of the said Nathan W. Jarrett and in his presence as did also John F. Bobo and Henry D. Capers ___ ___ Additional Comments: This will was done on Nov 2, 1885 recorded on Jan 18, 1886. He is buried in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. He lived from 1825 to 4/2/1886.
