Bradley State of Georgia Cass County In the name of God Amen. I William Watts, of the State of Georgia in the county of Cass, being mindful of my mortality, and of a sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in the manner following. First I hereby constitute and ordain Francis M. Watts and James S. Cunningham to be my Executors of this my last Will, directing them to pay all my just debts and Funeral Expenses. Secondly After paying all my just debts and funeral expenses, or as soon thereafter, as will be deemed proper by them (my Executors) are directed to expose to sale my Household and kitchen furniture of any kind and description and my land and town lots in the Villedgeville of Adairsville consisting of one field or parcel of ground of about fifteen acres more or less, known as the Watts farm adjoining the said Villedgeville of Adairsville and the town lots as above mentioned, to wit, the lot upon which I now live, the lot upon which Samuel Gray lives, the lot upon which Samuel Floyd lives, and one unimproved lot adjoining Joseph Aul and others; and the proceeds arising from the sale thereof to be equally divided among my nine living children and wife – share and share alike (viz.) Mary Ann C. Allen, Willis Caroline Cunningham, Willy Christian Watts, William Joseph Watts, Elija T.N. Watts, Francis Marion Watts, Martha Ann E. Watts, George Washington Watts, and Virginia L. Watts. Secondly I do further will and bequeath unto my beloved wife and children aforesaid, and do hereby make them equal distributees of my remaining portion of my personal Estate and other estates, so far as I have control either by purchase, inheritance and the like; at this time or any other – The aforesaid remaining portion consisting of about nine hundred dollars in cash on hand, and twenty two hundred dollars in solvent notes. And I hereby direct my Executors aforesaid, to pay to each and every one – my wife and children aforesaid, their equal parts of the aforesaid sum of nine hundred dollars, or whatever amount may come to their hands and likewise to collect the notes aforesaid and distribute in the same way. And lastly with a heart full of love to my wife and children – not preferring one to another, but desiring to secure to each, whatever little I may give them, and that the same may not be squandered, I direct that of the portion that will be coming to my son (George Washington Watts) to him that amount and that only, yearly not above fifty dollars for expenses necessarily and prudently incurred by him. And should they my Executors, at any time deem it prudent from a change of life in my son George Washington, to give the whole or a quarter part and heretofore mentioned, they are hereby authorized and at full liberty to do so. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal, and publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in the presence of these witnesses this 1st October 1859. Wm Watts (signature) J.
