ARTHUR W. BATTON DIES, SERVICES ARE HELD TODAY

Funeral services for Arthur W. Batton, 50, were held this afternoon at 3:30 t 
Providence Church with the Rev. W.A. Wilson and the Rev. W.G. Swilley 
officiating.  Interment was held in Bethlehem Cemetery with nephews serving as 
pallbearers.

Mr. Batton was born February 7, 1905, in Ben Hill County, a son of J.D. Batton 
and Arlie Dorming Batton.  By trade he was a barber.  His death ccurred at the 
local hospital on Sunday, June 12, at 8 p.m.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Malcolm Pierce, Chicago; and Mrs. Johnnie 
Recey Jacksonville, Fla., a grandchild, three brothers, W.A. Batton and C.B. 
Batton, Fitzgerald, and F.B. Batton, Abbeville; two sisters, Mrs. W. S. 
McCuller, Fitzgerald, and Mrs. J.D. Gladden, Jacksonville, Fla., an uncle, E.L. 
Dorminy, and several nieces and nephews.

Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Additional Comments:
Arthur W. Batton was the son of John Bryant Batton and Arlie Virginia Dorminey 
Batton.  His daughter Virginia's husband was J. Homer Reasy (called John).  The 
grandchild was Virginia's daughter, Deborah Virginia Reasy.
