She was 79. Rev. Howard Kitchens and Rev. Gene Force officiated at the 2:00 p.m. service with interment in Luke Cemetery in Ben Hill County. The deceased was born September 21, 1917 in Ben Hill County to George and Maymee Robitzsch Blocker. A retired senior case worker for the Ben Hill County Dept. of Family and Children Services and a member of Abba Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, Mrs. Goodroe was a life long resident of Ben Hill County. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron and Past Nasah, and member of Daughters of the Nile. She was also associated with her husband in the Ben Hill Dialysis Clinic. She is survived by husband,John L, Goodroe, Jr. of Fitzgerald; two sons: Ronnie "Shag" Luke and Bill Luke, both of Fitzgerald; three step-daughters: Jani C. Goodroe of Tallahassee, FL, JoyLou Mullis of Monroe, and Johnnette Bucham of Atlanta, one sister: Louise B. Turk of Fitzgerald; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by first husband, Sharpe Luke, son Henry Gerald Luke and stepson, John L. Goodroe, III. File size: 1.8 Kb
