The funeral service for Virginia D. Crowley .of Fitzgerald, who died Sunday, January 18, 1998 at her residence, was held Wednesday, January 21 at Burch-Hudson Funeral Home in Fitzgerald. She was 84. Rev. Tom Braziel and Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiated at the 2:00 p.m. service with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. The deceased was born September 1, 1913 in Coffee county to Oscar Aaron and Myrtle Rae Mayo Duke. She was the widow of James E. Crowley and a member of Arbor Baptist Church where she attended The Euzelian Sunday School Class and was also a member of The Young at Heart. Mrs. Crowley was a former dietary assistant at Ben Hill Co. Hospital, and had worked at Nursery Rhyme Day Care in Fitzgerald. She is survived by one son: John A. Crowley of Fitzgerald; two daughters: Quellanette C. Strickland of Fitzgerald and Faye C. Gaines of Yulee, FL; one brother: O. A. Duke of Thunderbolt, GA; one sister: Mayo Currin of Broxton; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. . Music was provided by pianist Shelia Carter, who accompanied a quartet consisting of Dean Alexander, Johnny Burch, Tim Parker and Laurie White.
