Ralph Swanson Mr. W. Ralph Swanson of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998 at Dorminy Medical Center. He was 76. Mr. Swanson was born April 12, 1921 in Ben Hill county, the son of Thomas "T.L." and Myrtle Mae Stokes Swanson. A retired carpenter and farmer, he had lived in Ben Hill county most of his life and was a former employee of Mann & Massee Construction Co. and Ralph Puckett. He helped build the addition to Paulk Funeral Home and was a former member of the American Legion. He was a member of Northside Baptist Churcn in Fitzgerald. He served in WW II in the U.S. Army Corp in Asiatic-Pacific Theater and received the American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, WW II Victory Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal. Survivors include his wife, Ann T. Swanson of Fitzgerald; one son, Billy Swanson of Albany; three daughters, Bonnie Ann Swanson O'Steen of Thomasville, Myrtle Sue Swanson of Fitzgerald and Jo Swanson Walker of Abbeville; one brother, Howard Swanson of Ocilla; four sisters, Lucille . Malphus, Martha Nell Brown. and Willene Ward, all of. Savannah; seven grandchildren; one great- grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, April 10, 1998 at 11 a.m. at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. David Fisher and Rev. Tracy Swanson officiating. Patsy Spradlin served as pianist and Susan Hobbs was the soloist. Pallbeares were Danny Swanson, Freddie Swanson, Larry Swanson, Lloyd Taylor, Howard Swanson, Jr. and Jerry Swanson.
