She was 87. Rev. Bruce Merriman officiated at the 2:00 p.m. service with interment in Pitts City Cemetery. The deceased was born July 28, 1909 in Whitetop, VA to Samuel J. and Sarah Jane Blevins Thompson. Retired from office of Belk Lindsey Stores and of Baptist faith, she served as a member of Brevard County Elections Board for over 30 years. She also was a member of Masonic White Shrine where she served as Worthy Matron, Tifton Order of Eastern Star; member Ladies of Nobility; and served as Sunday School Superintendent of Central Bap- tist Church of Melbourne, FL. She is survived by husband, Hubert C. Ellis of Ocilla; one daughter: Vera E. Peacock of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren: Jonathan Peacock and Lara Peacock; one sister: Susie Vibbert of Tellahoma, TN Tiftarea Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
