T. (Bill) Davis Mr. W. T. (Bill) Davis of Fitzgerald, died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Dorminy Medical Center. He was 78. Mr. Davis was born July 1, 1929, in Fitzgerald, the son of Henry and Alice Davis. He was a retired machinist for Elixir Industries, formerly G & L Steel. Mr. Davis had lived in Fitzgerald most of his life. He was a former dispatcher for Harper Motor Lines. During World War II, he was awarded the Meritorius Service Medal while serving in the European. Mediterranean Theatre of Operation. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church of Fitzgerald. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Davis of Fitzgerald; one daughter, Rita Cleghorn of Fitzgerald; two sons, Larry Davis of Dallas, TX, and Robert Davis of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Leonard Davis of Palatka, FL, and four grandchildren. . Services were held Monday, July 20, at 11 a.m., at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. D. E. Beasley officiating. Interment was held a.t Salem Cemetery, Ben Hill County.
