George Lester Kirkpatrick, Jr.,
    Mr. George Lester Kirkpatrick; Jr. of Fitzgerald died Monday, July 
20, 1998. He was 69.
A native of Dalton, Mr. Kirkpatrick was Executive Vice President of Shaw 
Industries until 1980. After a brief period with a small carpet 
supplier, he returned to Shaw Industries and was plant manager of the 
Fitzgerald Yarn Plant until his retirement in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Fletcher Kirkpatrick of Fitzgerald; 
daughter, Karen  Karabinos of AIpharetta; sons, Chris Kirkpatrick of 
Dalton and Jim Kirkpatrick of I Chattanooga and six grandchildren.
Services were held at Dalton First United Methodist Church on Friday, 
July 24, at 2 p.m., with Dr. Bill Floyd and Rev. Al Turnell officiating.   
Interment was held at West Hill Cemetery.
    Love Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
