Cox Mrs. Irma P. "Mickie" Cox, 94, died Wednesday, December 31,1997 at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald. Mrs. Cox was born August 19, 1903 in Irwin county, the daughter of George Jacob and Georgianna Yaun Paulk. She had lived in Fitzgerald for the past 15 years. She was a former resident of Oklahoma and Dallas, TX. She organized a Garden Club at the Summitt Apts., was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School class and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a retired Medical Secretary, Medical Center of Dallas, TX. Survivors include two brothers, Micajah C. Paulk of Ft. Worth, TX and Ralph W. Paulk of Haywood, CA; one sister, Mary Alice Melanson of Dallas, TX; one stepdaughter, Jean Butler of College Station, TX; three step-sisters, Nell Daniel, Margaret Archer and Gertrude Graham, all of Tifton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 3, 1998 at 11 a.m. at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Dr. Edwin "Buddy" Cooper officiating. Marty Smith was the organist; Jan Duncan and Keith Eppes sang a duet. Pallbearers were Robert D. Hinton, Mark E. Duncan, T.M. Williamson, Frank Eppes, David Whitworth, Samuel Smith and Keith Eppes. Interment was in Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin county with DAR ceremony. Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
