She was 81. Mrs. Hunter was born August 26, 1916 in Heard county, the daughter of the late John Cullen and Iva Lane Adamson Boggus. She had lived in Fitzgerald most of her life, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ben Hill county. She was a homemaker and former owner/operator of Milady Beauty Shop in Fitzgerald. Survivors include her husband, J.C. Hunter of Fitzgerald; one daughter, Brenda H. Browning of Winterville; one brother, La Voye Boggus of Live Oak, FL; one sister, Kathryn Hogan of Quitman and two grandchildren. Graveside services were held Tuesday,June 2, 1998 at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with Rev. Robert McDearmid officiating. Pallbearers were Gene Harper, Billy Schell, John Hageman, Dewey Smith, Jr., Wendell Patton and Jim Parrott. Burch-Hudson Funeral Home in Fitzgerald was in charge of the arrangements.
