Rodgers Mr. Perry L. Rodgers of Fitzgerald, died Monday, June 8, 1998, at home. He was 75. Mr. Rodgers was born December 17, 1922 in Ben Hill County, the son of Joe and Edna Rodgers. He was owner and operator < of Modern, Appliance Co. of Fitzgerald. Mr. 'Rodgers served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II, in England and France. He was a lifelong resident of Ben Hill County. Mr. Rodgers was a Mason and Shriner, an American Legion member and a member of the Ben Hill Hillbillies, Shrine Unit. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Westbury Rodgers. Survivors include a daughter, Gina McEachern of Fitzgerald; two sons, Alfred Rodgers of Ocilla and Randall Rodgers of Fitzgerald; four grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Fowler of Arp Community and Sara Jones of Macon. Services were held Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at 4:00 p.m., at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Dr. Gene Wilder and Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating. Music was provided by soloist Blane Jacobs and organist Ms. Marty Smith. Pallbearers were Masons and Shriners: Royce Williams, James Clemons, Michael MacDonald, Billie Whelchel, Frank Freeman, and George Hardrick Interment was held at Arp Cemetery in Irwin County.
