 Shelby Jean Rowan, 68, of Fitzgerald died February 10, 2012, at Dorminy M
Medical Center.
 Born December 28, 1943, in Boyle, MS, to the late Benjamin E. and Myrtle 
Warren Coleman, she graduated from Berrien High School and moved to Fitzgerald 
after her husband retired from the U.S. Army in 1987. She was a member of 
Crossview Baptist Church and the Samaritans Sunday School class. She was a 
homemaker and former employee of Fitzgerald Underwear and Shoney’s Inn. She was a
lovi
a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading and cooking.
 She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Billy C. Rowan of Fitzgerald; child
children, Darlene Courtiade of Fitzgerald, Billy C. and Karen Rowan, Jr. of Clear
Clearmore, OK and Lisa and Al Mattos of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Sheay Bean,
Casey
Casey Rowan, Wylee Dean, Mikey Rowan, Billie Marie Rowan, Evan Courtiade, Andru
Andruw Mattos, Erin Courtiade, Ella Rose Mattos and Nicolas Mattos;sister, Virgi
Virginia Cornelius of Nashville and brother, Richard Coleman of Ray City; sever
several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Buddy
Buddy Coleman, Pearlman Coleman, Buster Coleman and Sonny Coleman and sister, Robbi
Robbie Moore.
 Funeral services were held February 13 at 2 p.m. at Crossview Baptist Church with
with the Revs. Jeff Parmer and David Fisher officiating.
 Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
 Paulk Funeral Home of Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
