The Nashville Herald February 8, 1907
	Readers of the Herald will remember that about three months ago Ches 
Powell shot his brother-in-law, William Snipes, while both men were on a 
spree, in the Upper Tenth district.  They had a disagreement about some 
frivolous matter.  Snipes was hit in the thigh and knee.  He lingered along 
for three months, and died last Thursday morning.  Powell’s home is in Jackson 
county.  He will be arrested and tried for murder.
