 ALAPAHA -- Betty Jean Akridge, 72, of Alapaha died August 11, 2006 at her 
residence.
  Born November 3, 1933 in Berrien County to the late Jesse P. and Estelle 
Swilley Moore, she was a homemaker and member of Glory United Methodist Church.
  Survivors include her husband, Roy Akridge of Alapaha; two daughters, Rhonda 
Garrett of Tifton and Donna Garrett of Nashville; one son, Chuck Garrett of 
Portland, OR; one sister, Sherry Chambers of Warwick; one brother, Wilburn 
Moore of Michigan; three grandchildren.
  As per her wishes, the remains have been cremated.
  A graveside memorial service was held August 15 at 10 a.m. at Glory Cemetery 
with Rev. Jack Atkinson officiating.
  Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
