Our loving thanks to his doctors and Bayview Manor in Beaufort, S.C., for his loving care and support for his family and friends the last months of his life. William Buren, also known as Bill, was born in Nashville, Ga., to the late Agnes Briggs and Little Buren ``Dart´´ Allen. He attended First Presbyterian Church on Hilton Head Island until he became too ill. Bill went to elementary school through 12th grade in Nashville, Ga., then packed his bags with $70 in his pocket and moved to Atlanta, Ga., where he graduated from the Atlanta Art Institute. He was immediately hired by the largest art institute in the Southeast. He then became the youngest art director the company had ever had. His lifelong career was in advertising and marketing. His love was for his family and golfing. Bill golfed with Jackie Gleason and Dean Martin as well as his three sons. Bill even taught his wife of 11 years, Alicia, to play golf. Bill and Alicia moved to Hilton Head Island, S.C., in 2001, where he retired and became an accomplished golfer, bicycle rider and enjoyed long walks on the beach. Survivors include his wife Alicia of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; sons Briggs Allen and Brett Allen of Atlanta and Braxton Allen, who now attends Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga., and a sister, Cheryl Allen of Nashville, Ga.; and one little silky terrier, Rocky. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andy Allen and David Allen. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Drew Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 7-9 p.m. - Lovein Funeral Home.
