  ENIGMA - Jewell Avera, 67, of Enigma, died Friday, July 31, 2009, at her 
residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Westview
Cemetery. 
Cemetery. Mrs. Avera was born on Sept. 23, 1941 in Brooks County. She was the 
daughter of George Durley and Effie Wilcox, both deceased. She was also 
preceded in death by her husband, Russell Clyde Avera, who died in 1975; two 
sisters, Patricia Garren and Birdinia Spires; and a granddaughter, Katie 
Wiggins. She was a homemaker and a retired nurse. Survivors include four 
daughters, Julie (Randy) Lott of Moselle, Miss., Vera (Ethan) Allen of Enigma, 
Birdie O'Neal of Abbeville and Annette Wynn; a son, Robert "Butch" Avera of 
Purvis, Miss.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lovein Funeral 
Home is in charge of arrangements
