Grace Jeanette Avera, 88, of Nashville, died December 25, 2013, at her 
residence.
 She was born October 10, 1925, in Tampa, FL to the late Shafter and Lillian 
Randall Griner. She was a homemaker, retired from Nashville Textile, and a 
member of Nashville First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Johnie Webb 
Avera. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, 
Johnnie Avera and Travis Avera; one brother, Lyman Griner; one sister, Gertrude 
Valenti; and one grandson, Scott Avera.
 She is survived by one son, Chris (Dot) Avera of Nashville; three 
grandchildren, David Avera, Tracey Bullard and Brooke Kelley; five great-
grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Ashley, Shay, and Connor; two nephews, Philip 
Griner and Tommy Valenti.
 Funeral services were held December 28 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Luke and the Rev. Danny Ray officiating.
 Interment was in Westview Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in  charge of arrangements.
