Born December 15, 1939 in Ben Hill County to the late Emory and Mattie Lucy C Childs Bailey, he retired from Chaparral Boats as plant manager and he attended F Flat Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by daughter, Gina Lynn B Bailey, who died in 1973. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Poole Bailey of Nashville, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lakin Bailey of Nashville; granddaughter, Addie Bailey of Nashville; sisters, Jeanette Starling of Valdosta and Mary Grace Faircloth of Sparks; brother, Jimmy Bailey of Nashville; brother-in-law, Lamar P Poole of Pearson. Funeral services were held September 8 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Songs on CD included “Amazing Grace” and “Precious Memories.” Interment followed at Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers included Dusty Bailey, Jimmy Lane, Robert Trowell, Tommy Watson, F Flint Tucker, Bob Boykin. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
