He was born October 6, 1933, in Brooks County to the late Seaborn Edward and Inez Dampier Bailey. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, served in the Korean War, and was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hughes Bailey of Nashville; daughter, Tammy Nelson of Tifton; two sons, Gary Bailey of Tifton and Larry Bailey of Holliday, FL; four sisters, Edna LaVann Story of Waycross, Donna hiver of Tifton, Mary Mixon and Barbara Moore, both of Manor; four brothers, Johnny Bailey and Bruce Bailey both of Waycross, Aaron Wesley Bailey of Waynesville, Ronald Bailey of Boaz, AL; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held February 21 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery with full military honors.
