He was born February 4, 1928 in Berrien County to the late James Newton (Bud) B Barber and the late Mattie Jane Tyson. He was a retired farmer, machinist, and l lab technician. He was a member of Vickers Church and attended Beulah Church. H He was also an Army veteran. He is survived by his wife: Willene Tyson Barber of Sparks; daughter: Peggy (Raymond) Tucker of Valdosta; 2 sons: Benny (Donna) Barber of Perry and Darrell (Brenda) Barber of Nashville; 5 grandsons: Matt, Josh, Zach, Adam, and Blake; a great grandson: Dylan; great granddaughter: Morgan; step children: Janice, Joan, Joel, and Janelle; step grandchildren: Robin, Amanda, Tiffany, Aaron, Daniel, Phillip, and Derrick; step great-grandchildren: Christopher, Kasey, Camer Cameron, Emily. Funeral services were held April 18, 2011 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Fune Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Lawson and the Rev. Kenneth Mathews offi officiating. Songs on CD included "Love Lifted Me," "Amazing Grace," and "How Grea Great Thou Art." Interment was in Vickers Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Matt Barber, Josh Barber, Zach Barber, Adam Barber, De Derrick Thompson, Dusty Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were Phillip King, Daniel King, Aaron King, Brady Tucker. Lovein Funeral Home of Nashville was in charge of arrangements.
