Born September 16, 1924, in Worth County to the late Martin R. and Melissa H Holloway Taylor, she was a loving wife and devoted Christian mother. She e enjoyed sewing, cooking, visiting the elderly, playing the piano, and writing s songs. As a teenager she sang and played the mandolin with the Taylor Q Quartette. She was a lifelong member of Vickers Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Theodore Barber; two sons, Don Barber and Wayne Barber; four brothers, James Taylor, Reuben Taylor, Riley Taylor and Rancil Taylor. Survivors include her children, Tommy and Patricia Barber, Michael Barber, Billy Barber, Roger Barber, Faith and Dean Noles, all of Nashville, Elaine and David Peugh of Cordele; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great great-grandchildren; 26 step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six sisters, Trudie McNabb, Grace Friar, Josephine Joyce, Geraldine Champa, and Rudine Schmittou, all of West Berrien Community, and Ruth Harris of J Jacksonville, FL. Funeral services were held December 11 at Vickers Church with the Revs. Donnie Sloan, Kenneth Mathews and Ronnie Lawson officiating. A eulogy was given by Angelique Witmer. Musical selections included “Sweetest Little Darling” by granddaughters, “I’ll Fly Away” by Stephanie Barber and Tiffany Richardson, “Beautiful Heaven” by Roger Barber, and “He is Mine, I am His,” “He’ll Hold my Hand,” and “This World is Not my Home” by the Paffords. Interment followed in the church in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Matthew Barber, Jarrod Barber, Steven Barber, Scott Barber, Aaron Barber, Elijah Noles.
