Born June 30, 1917 in Berrien Co., she was the daughter of the late James N. "Bud" and Martha Jane "Mattie" Tyson Barber. She was a homemaker and member of Vickers Church. She was married to the late Robert Bartman. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Jannell Williams and Rose Amelia Philbrick, both of Franklin; two brothers, Eston Barber of Nashville, Emerson Barber of Columbus, OH; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 24, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Vickers Church with the Revs. Fred Hesters and Ronnie Lawson officiating. Gene, Pat and Myrtice Barber sang "Treasures Unseen." Amanda Dix sang "Beulah Land" and "Amazing Grace." Interment was in Vickers Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
