 Versie B. Becton, 83, of Tampa, FL died January 25, 2004 at Whispering Oaks 
Nursing Home in Tampa.
 Born May 26, 1920 in Berrien County to the late James Madison and Bessie Exum 
Barber, she had lived most of her life in Tampa. She was a homemaker and of the 
Baptist faith. She was married to the last Joe Becton.
 Survivors include one son, Carl Becton of Tampa; two brothers, Charlie Barber 
of Deland, FL and James Barber of Vidalia; one sister Doreatha Cochran of 
Lincolnton, NC; one granddaughter, one great-grandson.
 Funeral services were held January 28 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Boone-Lipsey 
Funeral Home.
 Interment was in Pleasant Cemetery in Berrien County.
 Boone Lipsey Funeral Home of Adel was in charge of arrangements.
