 Verne Benefield, 64, of Nashville died January 21, 2013, at his residence.
 He was born February 29, 1948, in Lowndes County. He was a self-employed tree 
surgeon with Verne’s Tree Service and served in the United States Army.
 He is survived by his wife, Jennette Powell Benefield of Nashville and a step-
son, Randall Gaskins.
 A graveside service was held January 24 at 2 p.m. at Empire Cemetery with Rev. 
Mike Bennett officiating.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
