NASHVILLE--A.B. Boyd, 59, of Route 1, died suddenly Thursday in the Berrien 
County Hospital.
 He was born in Lanier Co. and had lived in Nashville most of his life. He was 
a retired E7 with the US Army and had retired after 15 years service with the 
City of Nashville. He was currently employed as a jailer and dispatcher with 
the Cook County Sheriff's Department. During his Army service, he served in 
Korea and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
 He is survived by his widow, Laquietta Swain Boyd of Nashville; one daughter, 
Barbara Yawn of Nashville; two stepsons, Jeffrey H. Purvis in the US Army, Ft. 
Bragg, NC, and Stanley Purvis of Willacoochee; two sisters, Annie Pearl 
Manning of Nashville and Jessie Mae Jacobs of Alabama; two brothers, A.M. Boyd 
of Mulberry, FL and William Boyd of Moultrie; two grandsons; three step 
grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Burial will be in 
Westview Cemetery with military honors.
 Lovein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
