Born July 6, 1927, in Berrien County to the late Seaborn and Arlie Lewis Boyd, h he was a Mason and member of Duncan Lodge #234. He was a member of Poplar S Springs Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also p preceded in death by two brothers, Horace Boyd and Charlie Boyd. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Roland Boyd of Ray City; daughter and son-in in-law, Elaine and Mark Schmitt of Lakeland, FL; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Jessie Lee Boyd of Gulfport, MS, Hershell and Marie Boyd and Daniel and Angela Boyd, all of Ray City; sister, Ruth Sirmans of Valdosta; eight grandchildren, Mandy, Rebecca, Justin, Travis, Emily, Kailey, Hailey, and Dylan; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral wit with the Rev. J.W. Dukes, III, officiating Deborah Boyd sang "Amazing Gra Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "Just As I Am." Interment was in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ricky Boyd, Bill Boyd, Lyle Boyd, Buddy Purvis, David Dukes, j jim Culpepper, Ivan Sirmans. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
