 William Alvin “Paps” Boyd, Sr., 86, of Crescent City, FL died March 6, 2013, 
at his residence.
 Born July 19, 1926, in Nashville, he was the son of the late Jessie and Viola 
Kirkland Boyd. He was a contract welder and of the Baptist faith. He was 
preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Hamilton Boyd; brothers, Wallace 
Boyd and Autry B. Boyd; sisters, Jessie Mae Jacobs and Annie Pearl Boyd.
 Survivors include son, William (Cathy) Boyd, Jr. of Crescent City; daughters, 
Lisa (Joey) Dorsey and Karen (Dwayne) Allegood, all of Norman Park; brother, 
A.M. (Mary) Boyd; special friend, Elizabeth Truett; three granddaughters, 
Michelle Lynn Boyd, Lori Lynn Fountain and Lisa Mari Hamm, grandson, Bobby Joe 
Dorsey, several great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held March 9 at 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel in 
Moultrie with Rev. Bobby Paxton officiating.
 Interment followed in Leila Church Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were E. J. Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Roger Dorsey, Lee Williams, 
Blake Boutwell, Gary Lewis.
 Baker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
