Born February 11, 1945 in Landshut, Germany to the late Henry Grady Lewis and Helene Boyer, he was a retired machinist with Nashville Mills. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and was an Army veteran in Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Rilda Christine Ward Boyer who died in 1993. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Barnes Boyer of Nashville; two daughters, Tonia (Patrick) Tressler and Destiny Castle, both of Nashville; four sons, Eric (Lisa) Boyer of Burleson, TX, Grady Sean (Tanya) Boyer of Sparks, Tony (Keri) Barnes of Colorado Springs, CO, Jason (Candice) Byrd of Hahira; one brother, Tommy Lewis of Israel; 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held December 30 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Clarence Luke and Julian Adams officiating. "Amazing Grace." "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Go Rest High on that Mountain" were played on CD. Interment was in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Patrick Tressler, Patrick Tressler, Jr., Jason Byrd, David Morris, Ricky Brady, William Welch. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
