B. Boyett Sr. Mrs. J. B. Boyett Sr. of Dogwood Drive,Nashville, died Thursday, Oct. 16 at Berrien County Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Berrien County Oct. 24. 1903, where she had lived all her life, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dora Dorminy Paulk. The 71 year old member of the First Baptist Church was a housewife and also a member of Eastern Star and Woodmen of the World. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church with the Rev. E. Donald Bowick, pastor, and the Rev. Fred Hesters, pastor of Nashville Mission, officiating. Miss Vicki Luke sang "How Great Thou Art" to the accompaniment of Mrs. Lucy Bowick. Interment followed service in Westview Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Metts of Alapaha and Mrs. Katie Nix of Nashville; two sons, J B. Boyett Jr, of Nashville and Tommy Boyett of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Bailey of Seattle, Wash. and Mrs. Therma Richards of Nashville; one brother, Roy Paulk of Naahville; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Earl Boyett, Gilbert Boyett, Leon Gaskins, Johnny Gaskins, Ted Swindle, Billy Jack Gaskins And Chip Boyett. Honorary pallbearers were : H. D. Hand, Sam Akins, Dr. Y. F. Carter, Willis Nash, Ralph Hackett and Edward Creed. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
