She was born April 15, 1925 in Berrien County to the late Isom and Mary Sherrod Swilley. She was a homemaker and founder and retired administrator of open Door School and Open Door Mission near Alapaha, where she was a member. She was the widow of John Lucious Brogdon. She is survived by two sisters, Tonnie White of West Green and Betty Buttram of of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Billy Bruce and Jimmy Bruce both of Tampa. Funeral services were held June 28 at 11 a.m. at the Open Door Mission with the Re Rev. Kenny Greenway officiating. The congregation sang "Victory in Jesus," and a a group of young girls sang "Amazing Grace" to the tune of "Joy to the World." Interment followed at Glory Cemetery. Pallbearers were Owen Nugent, Berrien Sutton, Randy Carmichael, Chuck Alsobrook Alsobrook, Arnold Collins, Joseph Collens.
