 Barbara Ann Brogdon, 70, of Valdosta, died October 10, 2013, at Phoebe Sumter 
Medical Center in Americus.
 She was born March 30, 1943, in Berrien County to the late Edward Beauren and 
Eunice Grantham Jacobs. She was retired from Valdosta State university as 
registrar and was a member of Perimeter Road Baptist Church. She was preceded 
in death by a sister, Wydene Giddens, and a brother, Edward Beauren Jacobs, Jr.
 She is survived by a daughter, Melony (Randy) Kemp of Valdosta; two sons, 
Steven (Mary Ellen) Brogdon and Stacy (Leslie) Brogdon, all of Valdosta; two 
sisters, Wylene Hughes and Geraldine Phillips, both of Longwood, FL; seven 
grandchildren, Blake Kemp, Tyler Kemp, Destinee Brogdon, Luke Brogdon, Carter 
Brogdon, Taylor Brogdon and Parker Brogdon; special friends, Wanda Rumph and 
Wanda Swilley.
 Funeral services were held October 13 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Revs. Brian Anderson and Charlie Fleetwood officiating.
 Interment followed at Glory Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
