  Estella T. Brooks, 100, of Fitzgerald died September 10, 2005 at her 
residence.
 Born December 28, 1904 in Polk Co., FL to the late James R. and Bertha Vogler 
Thornton, she was a former school teacher at various schools before retiring 
from Alapaha Elementary School in 1970. She was a member of the Ben-Irwin 
Retired Teachers Association and the National Teachers Association. She was a 
member of Central United Methodist Church and a former member of Glory United 
Methodist Church.
 Survivors include three sons, Rev. Allen Brooks of Nashville, David Brooks of 
Leesburg, Walter Brooks of Fitzgerald; six grandchildren, seven great-
grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held September 13 at 2 p.m. at Glory United Methodist 
Church.
 Interment was in Glory Cemetery.
 Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
