Hospital. Born Aug. 4, 1915 in Berrien Co. to the late Newton Hansford and Mamie Isabella Griner Hughes, she was a homemaker. For many years she also owned and operated Hughes Florist with her husband, the late Zachary Taylor "Zach" Brown. She was a member of Nashville First Baptist Church. Survivors include three sisters, Velma Williams, Mary Lowe and Marilee Haile, all of Nashville. Funeral services were held March 2 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Richard Williams and Billy Southerland officiating. Deborah Boyd sang "How great Thou Art" and "The King is Coming" accompanied by Teresa Holliday. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Talmadge Sutton, Jerry Cooper, Donald Powell, Doug Nix, Joe Haile, Newt Hughes. Honorary pallbearers were James Herndon, Albert Folsom, Vinson Luke, Emmitt Lewis, Harry Louis Sutton, Allen Kent, Eston Rowe, Brian Shaw, George Hughes, Bob Lovein.
