  Betty Jean Browning, 82, of Alapaha, died July 24, 2014, at Tift Regional 
Medical Center.
 She was born April 6, 1932, in Berrien County to the late Selem La Rue and Mary 
Magaline Rutherford Sellars. She was a homemaker and had owned Betty’s Grocery 
Story for a number of years. She was a member of Flat Creek Church.
 She is survived by her daughter, Judy Crawford of Atlanta; two sons, Johnny 
(Barbara)Browning of Alapaha and Jerry (Kris) Browning of Alapaha; step-
daughters, Carolyn (Billy) Hall of Douglas and Marilyn (Charlie) Barker of Ray 
City; sister, Thelda Mae McClellan of Alapaha; brother, Buddy Sellars of 
Nashville; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held July 27 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating.
 Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
