Born September 10, 1924 in Clark County, OH to the late Gustav and Helen Esther Hook Burgstaller, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force as E-6 Tech Sergeant. He served in WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of VFW. Survivors include his wife, Retha Gray Burstaller of Nashville, daughter, Dianne (James) Yarbrough of Richmond Hill; sisters, Ann Benston of Springfield, OH and Jo Ann Holford of Kenton, OH; brothers, Bill Burgstaller of Fresno, CA and Gene Burgstaller of Springfield; two grandsons, Tripp Knight of Leesburg and Matt Knight of Nashville; five great-grandchildren, Garrett, Dakota, Mason, Lexi and Marley. Funeral services were held December 21 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Darlene Parker sang "I Want Us To Be Together in Heaven," accompanied by Janet Powell, pianist. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
