Born March 19, 1943, in Berrien County to the late Phillip and Edna Brantley Burkhalter Burkhalter, he worked for Bathcraft Co. in Valdosta and served in the United S States Air Force. He was a member of Ray City First Baptist Church. He was p preceded in death by a sister, Betty Griffin. Survivors include his wife, Tina Sirmans Burkhalter of Ray City; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jeff Kling of Nashville; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Brandi Burkhalter of Lakeland; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Brandi Burkhalter Burkhalter of Lakeland; brother and sister-in-law, Lamar and Frances Burkhalter of Lake Park; brother-in-law, Donald Griffin of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Brandon Watson, Sarah Kling, Scott Kling, Hope Kling, Bryce Kling, Brailyn Burkhalter Burkhalter, Brilee Burkhalter, one great grandson, Kaiden Watson. Funeral services were held Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. of Ray City First Baptist Church wit with the Revs. John Evans Patten and Lee Graham officiating. Selected music was pro provided. Interment was in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Pallbearers were Elliot Garner, Elwood Mayo, E.W. Wilkerson, Bud Ray, Howard R Ray, Scotty Brogdon, Michael Cooper, Wayne Peters, Fred Carter.
