  Walter “Sonny” Carter, 75, of West Berrien died February 15, 2015, at his 
residence.
 He was born September 7, 1939, in Tift County to the late Walter L. and Bernice 
Spinks Carter. He was a retired farmer and a member of Pine Grove Missionary 
Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Carter and 
Donald Carter.
 He is survived by his wife, Freda Rutland Carter of West Berrien; daughter, 
Nikki (Noah) Coker of Athens; grandson, Isaac Noah Coker of Athens; sister, 
Patricia Harper of West Berrien; several nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services will be held on February 18 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Brantley Seymour officiating.
 Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Dialysis Center at Tift 
Regional Medical Center.
 Lovein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
