Chadwick, 62, of Ray city died January 27, 2011 at Tift Regional M Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born October 2, 1948, in Hahira to the late Wilbur Lee and Bessie Ruth Thompson Chadwick, he was a disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Army for 12 years with two terms of service in Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart, Medal of Valor, Bronze Star, and numerous other commendations for his contributions to his country. He was self-employed and worked in construction. He is preceded i in death by a twin brother and sister. Survivors include his wife, Ouida Guess Chadwick of Hahira; daughters and sons-in in-laws, Cindy and Bobby Ellis of Dasher, Keri and Mark Hodges of Hahira, Stephanie and Steve Smith of Ray City; sons and daughter-in-law, William and Christy Martin of Valdosta, Reese Chadwick of Hahira; grandchildren, Chad Hodges, Haley Hodges, Henry Martin, Leesa Elliott, Alan Ellis, Chris Ellis, Ashlie Ellis, great grandson, Hayden Ellis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Robin Lou and Don Lou and Don Moran and Jennifer Lee and Gary Elliott; a number of nieces and nephews. nephews. Funeral services were held January 31 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ray City with City with burial in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
