 Richard "PaDick" Chaffee, 80, died June 18, 2009. 
 He was born January 18, 1929 in Norwalk, OH. He retired after 28 years in the U
U.S. Air Force, the final 15 years at Moody Air Force Base, and served nine y
years in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church in J
Jacksonville, FL.
 Survivors include his loving wife, Jewell Boatwright Gaskins Chaffee; sons, 
Richard and Michael Chaffee and Chester D. Gaskins, Jr., and wife, Betty; 
sisters, Jean French and Beverly Crow; brother, Harry Tomes; grandchildren, 
Robert Gaskins, Kenneth Gaskins (Bonnie), DeAnna Jackson (David) and Gina Morton
Morton (Mitchel); nine great-grandchildren, Amber, Deborah and Brittany 
Gaskins, Samantha, Blake and Matthew Gaskins, Evan, Darrik (Jackson) and 
Savannah Morton and a great-granddaughter on the way; a great-great-granddaughter,
Jordyn Chambers; niece and nephew, Winston and Gail Warren, and many other relatives
and 
granddaughter, Jordyn Chambers; niece and nephew, Winston and Gail Warren, and 
many other relatives and wonderful friends.
 Funeral services were held June 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Arlington Baptist Church.
 A graveside service with full military honors was held June 24 at 11:30 a.m. a
at the Old Nashville Cemetery in Berrien County.
 Corey-Kerlin Funeral Homes and Crematory of Jacksonville was in charge of a
arrangements. Lovein Funeral Home handled local arrangements.
