A lifelong resident of Berrien County, he was a retired farmer and attended the Nashville Mission. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Goff of Adel and Wanda Eason of Nashville; two sons, Ralph Clanton of Morrow and William E. "Bill" Clanton of Vienna; four sisters, Verdie Rice, Mamie Hewett, Thelma Griner and Ruby Langley, all of Nashville; three brothers, Eugene Clanton of Texas and G. H. Clanton and Duck Clanton, both of Nashville, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Hesters officiating. Burial will be in the Long Bridge Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
